Written in …

Like a bird that flies
In the morning light,
Or a butterfly in the spring,
When your spirit rides,
On the wings of hope,
You’ll find your wings.

And you’re always free to begin again,
And you’re always free to believe!
When you find the place
That your heart belongs,
You’ll never leave.

You and I will always be
Celebrating life together.
I know I have found a friend forevermore!
Love is like a melody;
One that I will always treasure.
Courage is the key that
Opens every door!

Though you may not know
Where your gifts may lead,
And it may not show at the start,
When you live your dream,
You’ll find destiny
Is written in your heart.

Those are lyrics from one of the song in Barbie Princess and the Pauper, which titled Written In your Heart. I took those lyrics from here (http://barbiemovies.wikia.com/wiki/Written_In_Your_Heart)

Well, I know that I shouldn’t listen to music cause it could divert me from reciting Holy Quran. This is one of the things that I still can’t give up (yet). I didn’t listen to new songs. The only radio channel I still listen is radio rodja, which broadcast only about Islam. But, whenever I hear songs from my youth, it’s very hard to resist. Oh, and most of the time I watch k-drama, I turned off the sound because those k-dramas soundtrack are usually gooood. Yes, I tried not to listen to music.

I would say that my effort is pretty good considering my history with music. When I was a child, I took piano lesson for more than 6 years. My parents often took me and my siblings to classical concerts (yes, the ones with live orchestra), ballet performance, etc. Half of my cousins can play piano/violin/guitar, or do ballet, or sing in a student choir, event conduct a student orchestra. My parents also loves to do karaoke at home, they even have a karaoke room which costs A LOT. Growing up, I often went to pentas seni. So, music had been a huge part of my youth.

Enough of my history. Back to the lyrics. The part that I like the most is when Erika decided to chase her dreams to sing and travel the world. At that time Dominic already proposed to her, but he willing to wait. After months of travelling, she realized there was one place she wanted to stay more than anywhere else. Sometimes being free means choosing not to go, but to stay. She decided to accept Dominic proposal, and stay beside him. Followed by this song:
And you’re always free to begin again,
And you’re always free to believe!
When you find the place
That your heart belongs,
You’ll never leave.

Part of me laughing while watching the movie, but my innerchild overjoyed. Come on, who wouldn’t want to stay with a king (Dominic) and live happily ever after? ROTFLOL. Nevertheless, part of me can feel a bit relate to Erika. I choose to support my husband’s career and taking a good care of our son. I believe I can start over my career, but my son’s childhood can never be repeated.

You and I will always be
Celebrating life together.
I know I have found a friend forevermore!
Love is like a melody;
One that I will always treasure.
Yes, I already have the best partner for life (and life hereafter). We always try to be better person so that we can meet again in Jannah.

Courage is the key that opens every door!
Though you may not know
Where your gifts may lead,
And it may not show at the start,
When you live your dream,
You’ll find destiny
Is written in your heart (more likely in Lauhul Mahfuz)
Yes, I need courage to do something that I haven’t done before. I may not know what my gifts are, or how I use them to bring greater good. But I need not to worry, because my life already written in Lauhful Mahfuz. Whatever path I choose, it will lead me to what was already written there. It’s written by ALLAH SWT.
